Motivated by the evolution of educational technology, Learned.Live has developed a virtual platform to connect teachers and students, who are passionate about learning new topics online.
Taking Edutech to the nexl level, Learned.Live has been designed by teaching professionals who know their craft, and how to cater for the growing appetite of learners. The site boasts a sense of community and interaction with real time learning, as well as instant feedback.
Learners have access to expertise from all different verticals not just your typical academic courses.
It's your learning. Your way.
Learned.Live kicked off the business in July 2020 with a vision to create the world’s favourite live online learning platform; one which acts as an automated digital marketplace matching adult students and teachers for live interactive courses in Zoom “classrooms”. With the unprecedented changes in online education as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Learned.Live needed to move fast to be first to the UK market and sought a commercial partner who would be able to assist with the unique challenges, that creating a complex learning platform development would require – setting up an e-commerce site to showcase the huge range of live online classes, allowing a personalised student experience and of course incorporating essential data security management, and be GDPR compliant. The platform also integrates Zoom, PayPal, and Stripe.
The initial development was undertaken by a boutique UK-based agency however it quickly became clear that the complexity of the project required a partner with a wider scope of experience. Dotsquares were a clear choice as we were able to work within a rigid budget and timeline and had a large enough team to be able to provide dedicated resources. We were also able to offer our expertise in design and e-commerce marketing.
Dotsquares helped Learned.Live to further developer their platform using PHP and CodeIgniter implementing a range of major enhancements, upgrades and fixes to provide the client with a more stable, robust and automated system, enabling them to move forward with a new degree of confidence. Our support specifically focused on:
The dedicated live learning platform was first to the UK market and since launching the platform initially to Teachers in November 2020, over 200 Teachers have listed courses on the site. There are currently over 275 courses across 14 main categories, and more than 1,500 User registrations on the platform with enrolments increasing weekly.
The critical site health indicators of the website are very positive with a low bounce rate and high average number of page viewings. The average duration on the site is also much higher than the industry average – all positive indications that the site works for the target audience.
There has been extensive interest in the corporate section of the platform as the need for remote training, online team building, team socials and wellbeing increases as a result of the new work from home culture. Learned.Live have started working with a range of high-profile companies looking for online course options.
“Our experience working with Dotsquares has been entirely positive and a breath of fresh air. They have been really flexible and helpful and always go that extra mile to make sure they can address our various and rapidly changing needs. They are also good fun to work with and there is usually a lot of good natured joking going on, usually at the expense of the England Cricket Team.
Although there are some natural cultural and language challenges when working with an offshore developer, we found that having a part time project manager to assist the developer has been key to the successful delivery of the project.
Overall we really feel like they are an important part of the Learned.Live team and wish we’d switched to Dotsquares much earlier in the project. We hope that when we expand the platform to multiple markets, we can engage more of their services and increase the number of developers we contract through them. I would highly recommend them for exemplary support for anydigital projects you are considering undertaking.”
